Small vesicles. A role in cellular communication.

Small vesicles. Meaningful connections.

Exosomes are tiny, membrane-bound vesicles released by cells. They can carry proteins, lipids and RNA, and are studied for their role in communication between cells.

Where they come from

The source matters. The cells that release these vesicles help shape their composition and biological properties.

What they carry

Their cargo can include proteins, lipids and RNA. Researchers study both the vesicles and their contents to understand their role.

Why formulation matters

An ingredient is only part of the story. Its preparation, stability and the evidence behind the finished formula all matter.

A closer look.

Are all extracellular vesicles exosomes?

No. Exosomes are a specific type of extracellular vesicle formed inside cells. Size alone does not identify an exosome; evidence of how it was formed is needed.

What does exosome research mean for skincare?

It offers a way to explore cellular communication. Findings from laboratory research do not automatically establish skincare benefits. Those require evidence for the specific ingredient and finished product.
